About
The idea for Bill’s Bag Lunches began as I was taking my wife to work in July of 2021. Each morning our then three-year-old daughter asked about the tents and people living along Ellice Street in Rock Bay. We explained to her the various reasons why someone might live on the street (mental health, addiction, etc.) and I had the idea to give her a more human experience by making and delivering bag lunches. That sparked a desire to offer this on a weekly basis to the unhoused community in Victoria.
Since then, Bill’s Bag Lunches has hand-delivered a sandwich, orange, cookies and water every Friday, all funded by local businesses and community members.
Community Partners
Bill's Bag Lunches has partnered with local community groups to help bolster their food security initiatives throughout the Greater Victoria Region. We provide fresh produce and grocery items for these two incredible local programs.
Oaklands Community Association offers both local and rescued foods, including: produce, dairy, eggs, shelf-stable goods and treats at their community pantry.
Victoria Youth Empowerment Society's food pantry provides access to healthy, culturally relevant food options, household items, hygiene products, and clothing for youth ages 13-19. They also offer skill-building workshops around food, cooking, and budgeting.

Tour De Vic
The Bill’s Bag Lunches Tour de Victoria cycling team is a project to raise money for end of year gift bags for our bag lunch recipients. These will include gloves, socks, toques and scarves, delivered along with the bag lunches in December. The goal of the program is to raise $4,000 and the ride riders raised $2,047 from their efforts. We’re looking for riders for next year, so if interested, please reach out. We have 15 spots available and eight riders currently signed up.
Thank you to Teddy’s Boxing and Fitness for their fundraiser and to Il Sauvage Brewery for their fundraiser coming up this fall! If you want to donate, head to our Go Fund Me page
